Tectonic of the undertow

This project explores the meeting of forces from the ocean with forces imposed onto the ocean. Wind and ocean currents, tides, surface waves and wind gusts,  gravity, deposition, and the gradual erosion of sand, soil, clay blend into an ensemble of noise and activity at the coastline. The meeting of these forces extend well beyond the coastline; Its effects are felt throughout the globe from the sudden destabilization of jet streams that led to extreme cold of the polar vortex, the accumulative-effect of water vapour concentrations and other greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere causing more frequent, intense and unpredictable floods and storms across the globe far beyond the origins of these forces.

This project speculates a tectonic for a future coastline occupied by uninhabited human ruins.
