A two-faced building houses two competing coffee companies, “The Roasted Providence” and “Spicy Bean Rhode Island”. The programs and systems simultanously integrate and separate the two hopeful establishments attempting to outwit one another. An undulating glass corridor divide offices, but glass walls chosen for modern aesthetics enable both companies to visually eavesdrop on one another. Sound cannot pass through the two offices, but switches redirecting the flow of the HVAC system allow both companies to sample the smell of brewing from one another. Construction methods: CLT floors, walls, framing, raised access floor systems, automated shading.
